Small Groups

Small Groups

Kingdom Life Church has several weekly, fortnightly or monthly Small Groups which fall within 3 categories; Mission Groups, Equipping Groups and Life Groups. These groups are for regular attendees in Kingdom Life Church. They run on different days/times of the week and each type of group has a different emphasis for meeting.

Our Mission Groups are for those who wish to find a way to introduce a friend to church without having to go straight for a Sunday meeting! Misson Groups are small, friendly and hosted often at someone’s house or in the Kingdom Life Church building. Each group has a unique theme and purpose.

Equipping Groups aim to instruct group members on a certain topic or in a bible study following a certain passage or topic. These groups are educational and train individuals up for ministry in their everyday lives.

Life Groups are designed for members to join in fellowship with one another, share testimony together, pray for each other, worship collectively and study the Word together in a relaxed homely environment.

CURRENT MISSION GROUPS

Daniel Plan

We meet weekly on Tuesdays from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, at the Kingdom Life Church building.

The Daniel Plan is a small group that offers an innovative approach to creating a healthy lifestyle. God designed our bodies to be healthy, providing everything we need to thrive. During the ten weeks, we will cover the five areas of: Faith, Food, Fitness, Focus & Friends. The overall focus is on learning what it means to make healthier lifestyle choices.

The sessions will encourage and inspire you to deepen your relationship with God as you choose your own steps towards living a healthier life. Feel free to bring along a friend or a family member.

On the final session, we come together with members from the previous Daniel Plan groups for fun, food, and fellowship as we share healthy food and enjoy a taco evening together.

Please note this group is a missional group – if you are planning to be part of this group, please consider who you know who may be encouraged to come who is not yet engaged with God.

Local History group

Currently, day and time will vary.

We will go to local places of history monthly  e.g. Lamport Hall, Stowe Gardens, Naseby and explore how these places have affected Northamptonshire and so impacted the lives of ourselves and those living at the time. So we can feel more a part of Northampton culture and more embedded into the town and locality.

Please note this group is a missional group – if you are planning to be part of this group, please consider who you know who may be encouraged to come who is not yet engaged with God.

Book Club

We meet monthly on a mutually agreeable day in a location close to Town Centre. The focus of the book club is on Christian fiction books. The group will decide together on a book for the next month, suggestions from all members are very welcome. Let’s read, discuss, ask questions and look for answers. We hope that we’ll be able to use the stories to encourage, build and bless one another. Let’s share the joy of reading.

Please note this group is a missional group – if you are planning to be part of this group, please consider who you know who may be encouraged to come who is not yet engaged with God.

Zumba

We meet weekly on Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm in the Community Hall at Kingdom Life Church. Zumba is a fun way to do some regular exercise, relieve stress and look after the body God has given you. There’s always lots of fun and laughter – which in itself is good exercise and also relieves stress! Feel free to bring along a friend or a family member to join the fun. We are not experts and will be using a DVD. We will start by learning the basic steps of Zumba and then build up the intensity gradually over the ten weeks. You will need to take responsibility for deciding if you are fit enough to take part in the sessions. Please check with your GP if you have any medical issues that might cause problems when doing an aerobic style exercise session.

Please note this group is a missional group – if you are planning to be part of this group, please consider who you know who may be encouraged to come who is not yet engaged with God.

CURRENT EQUIPPING GROUPS

Way Of The Spirit

We meet fortnightly on Thursday evenings from 7:30 pm in the Kingsthorpe area. The ‘Way of the Spirit’* is a powerful way of engaging personally and fruitfully with the Word of God, It is a two-edged sword, the Word, and the Spirit. The course will build confidence in hearing, understanding and applying what the Spirit of God reveals to you. We will be doing a course entitled “Water into Wine”.

Parenting

We meet fortnightly on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at Kingdom Life Church. This course will run for 5 sessions. Train up a child in the way he should go and he will now depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). The aim of the group is to have space where we can come together to explore the reality of being a parent/potential parent. We will draw from the Bible and explore literature from valued and recognised Christians, authors, and professionals such as Gary Chapman, author of ‘The 5 languages of love of Children’.

Identity

We meet fortnightly on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm – 9:35 pm at Kingdom Life Church. The course will run for 5 sessions. Identity is a concept that has been explored in different forums- psychological concepts and then from a Christian perspective. As Christians, we often hear messages preached on our identity being in Christ. What does this mean for us as individuals and how can we fully embrace this reality. We will draw from a well-read book by Jack and Trisha Frost, ‘Spiritual Slavery to Sonship’, as well as other resources that will be a good guide in our journey of exploration.

Men's Bible Study

We meet weekly on Friday mornings in the Carey room at Kingdom Life Church from 10 AM to 12 PM. Using recognised study guides we explore the focus of the study and use of scripture to come to the conclusions that excite and are relevant today. Currently, we are looking at a book called ‘Preparing for the Glory’ by John and Carol Arnott.
