We believe God calls people to the role of eldership. Led by lead elder Paul Worth since January 2017, our elders form a team that helps to lead, govern, and direct the church, and provide accountability. They, in turn, are helped by additional leaders and the wider team who work together to support the ministries and mission of the church. Additional oversight comes through our connection to the New Frontiers family of churches.
A local boy, I grew up in the village of Blisworth where I attended the Baptist Chapel from a young age, growing in my faith and knowledge of God.
When I left school, I studied and worked in architecture, which is how I met a beautiful redhead called Kate. We were both studying architecture at Oxford Brookes and we discovered we shared a love of design, cats, lasagne, and Jesus. We married and got ourselves a cat shortly after.
Since the late 90s I have been working for church, leading youth, preaching, pastoring, church planting, and more besides. I returned to Kingdom Life Church at the beginning of 2016 and became lead elder in January 2017. I have a passion to see our communities, our town, and our nation touched and changed with God’s love and grace.
Although I didn’t grow up in Northampton I have lived here for over 30 years! I’ve been married to my lovely wife for over 40 years, have three great grown-up children and one granddaughter, who is a joy to us.
I am nearing retirement but for 12 years I was involved in research at a University before moving into consultancy. I have founded and worked in three small businesses over my working life. I shall be more involved in ministry once formally retired.
I have been in leadership at Kingdom Life Church since it was ‘birthed’ in 1995, so I reckon I have a number of T-shirts! For me church is a collection of people who know that we are deeply and passionately loved by God and who, in response, love Him and those with whom we interact in all the environments we find ourselves in. I love to see God healing and restoring people who, in turn, reach out to other broken people to demonstrate that His Kingdom has come.
I was born in Northampton, went to school in Northampton and am now often seen in and around the pubs and nightclubs of Northampton. Don’t worry… that’s because I’m a Street Pastor!
I was raised in a loving Christian family, but didn’t personally become a follower of Jesus until I was 35. It was through difficult times, but as a result of that I’ve come to know the amazing reality of the peace and presence of God. Having been part of Kingdom Life Church almost from its beginning, I’ve been involved in many aspects of church life. ‘Church as family’ is important to me, as is the wider church and community at large.
I’m married with two children and five grandchildren, and my role with the latter is apparently to teach them naughty things they haven’t thought of yet!
Before ‘retiring’ I worked as a teacher in Kenya and the UK, and have also been a farmer and a builder. Having a project on the go provides an outlet for my practical skills, so I’m now living in a house I recently built. For many years I have also been involved with a youth ministry at the Discovery Centre near to Jinja in Uganda.
I’m Rob. I’m married to a wonderful woman and have three amazing children.
I’ve been at Kingdom Life Church since January 2000 and have enjoyed getting involved in a variety of areas of church life. As well as welcoming people on the door and serving in the children’s work on Sunday mornings, I’ve worked with the men’s ministry and a fantastic group of young adults.
I’m excited about doing church in the coming years – particularly being able to do so alongside a great group of friends. I believe God has got great things in store for us as we pursue Him.
Outside of church, I am a primary school teacher and have a passion for sport. I love football and generally playing competitive games… basically trying to beat anyone at anything. Challenge accepted!
I’m Steve. I’m married with three children and have lived in Northampton since 1997. Kingdom Life Church has been our church ever since we were married and I’ve served in various activities during that time. I look after the youth ministry and mission, as well as regularly speaking and leading meetings on Sundays.
I want KLC to be a church that loves God, loves one another and loves Northamptonshire. I feel honoured to be an elder here (but I’m not that old)! As someone who grew up in an evangelical church, I see church as a lifeboat and I’m motivated to reach out to people.
I’m a full-time secondary school teacher by profession and also a mountain leader. I love the mountains and hills of Britain and enjoy the outdoors whenever I can. I am evidence that God can use anyone!
